Web of Lies is a show about murders committed using the internet. In Season 2, episode 5 the story of David Pauley is shown. The title of the show is Job of a Lifetime and Discovery ID describes it as, When job seeker ` responds to a Craigslist advertisement for a live-in caretaker on a ranch in Ohio, he is never seen alive again.

Crime

David Pauley
Richard was a con man and lifelong criminal. He presented himself as a religious person so he could steal the identities of other men. He lured multiple men to Ohio for a job that did not exist. He and his accomplice (who was technically a child he groomed) encouraged them to sell everything and bring their expensive belongings which they did. He would kill them, steal their identities, and sell their possessions. He is the epitome of what "Evil Santa" should look like. He is also known as the Craigslist Killer

Richard Beasley
is not eligible for parole because he received a Death Sentence.

The take away from this crime is to keep in mind that trust should be earned, never freely given. Not all people have "good in them" and some can and will in fact kill you.
